There's nothing wrong with the Super Tenere that a good insurance policy and a stick of dynamite can't fix! ;) The gear indicator drives me absolutely nuts, traction control really almost takes it out of the ADV category.

This song was one of my favorites. I graduated college and married in 1974 when it charted on the top ten. It was perfect for a newly wed and was enjoyed by my young bride too. Always brings back happy memories. 😊

How can it be a worse song if it reached the #1 position in the top 1hundred chart for 2 weeks! I'll admit that the band was a failure, but afternoon delight was not a failure song. The song has harmony, intonation, rhythm, and great vocals. This is a one hit wonder. If anything, the band will always be remembered because of afternoon delight. It's just a great song!

It just needs an exhaust to sound better, stock it sometimes sounds like the jetsons flying saucer hehe Im sure if it sounded better stock they would have sold twice as much, no reasons for a 270 crank 1200cc parallel twin to sound so uninspiring. Really a great adventure touring bike and its why I bought another one (as well as an aftermarket exhaust!)

That “cactus” line always bugged me. Thanks for mentioning it. Cactus is found strictly in North America. I could never understand if she was singing about an oasis in North America or somewhere in the Middle East. Not a lot of sultans, harems, and belly dancers in North America.

When the rear shock gets bagged out (or before if impatient like me) put a quality aftermarket shock on there, and toss the progressive fork springs in favor of proper straight rate springs. I have a Penske on mine, the combo of the good shock and long swingarm make for an incredibly smooth ride on the slab. Proper springs in the fork help too. Bought my '14 low mileage and pre-farkled for cheap, added more farkles and plan to keep it indefinitely as it is a reliable mile muncher. The bottom line is I enjoy how the ride is all about the ride, not the "gee whiz" factor of the bike when I ride my Super T.

Midnight At The Oasis has a quiet cool about it. The track is grooving and subtle in its sophistication. The lyric is playful and mildly pornographic which is infectious. Very seductive!! Kind of makes me wonder what would happen if a traffic accident were to occur on this road on the Canadian side. Which law enforcement agency would show up to investigate the accident? This road is probably a case of where you are legally considered to be in the US the whole time as long as you don't leave the highway and attempt to go further into Canada.
